Skimmer Collection Cup Question

Hey guys, I'm running an AquaC Urchin protein skimmer, and I opted not to get the optional overflow drain fitting...now I am wondering if I should have...this skimmer produces pretty much just water skimmate and I am wondering if I should retro a fitting to allow it to drain automatically and see if it helps produce more...any ideas?

Try decreasing the water level in the skimmer. Sounds like your skimming way to wet.

I moved the collection cup all the way to the top of the skimmer...any higher and it will fall out...is there something else I am missing? I'm very new to protein skimming, so you might need to slap me in the face with it!!
