My 120 Update Shots

Hey guys,

I don't post much on here but I would like to share some new shots of my SPS dominated tank. The first pic is from January 24 of this year for and the rest are taken in the last week. Its always nice to look back at older pictures and compare so you can see where you were and hopefully where your going. I'm not the best photographer. I just got a Canon S5iS and I still have not found the best mode to shoot in.

Sure thing.

Tank and Sump
- Perfecto 120 Gallon 4'X2'X2' display.
- All Glass 30 Gallon sump with baffles separating the skimmer and return section with about 20lbs of rubble rock in sump.

Pumps and Equipment
- Ocean Runner 6500 Return Pump
- ASM G3 Skimmer (mesh modded) set to skim wet
- (2) Phos Ban reactors. One for GFO and the other for Carbon.
- GEO 618 Calcium Reactor w/ Milwaukee PH controller - Gen-X media set to 6.6 PH run 24/7.
- JBJ Auto Top off

Circulation
- (2) Korallia 4's
- (1) Tunze 6101 on a multi controller. Hopefully have the second 6101 later in June.

Lighting
- (8) T5 54 Watt bulbs on SLR reflectors running on (2) IceCap 660's.

Water Parameters as of 5/15/08
Calcium - 440 - Salifert & API
Alk - 8 DHK - Salifert & API
Mag - 1320 - Salifert
Nitrate - undetectable by Salifert
Phosphate - undetectable by Salifert - that's no surprise.
Salinity 1.026
Temp (slowly rising in the last month) but 77~81.

About my habit

The tank holds about 150 lbs of Fiji Live rock plus I added 25lbs of Eco Rox last December for a total of about 175 + lb of rock in the display.

There are 12 fish in the tank and about 30 different SPS pieces from frags to larger colonies.

I feed twice a day, frozen mixture I buy locally at the LFS.

I dose Prodibio Bio Digest (1) Ampule and Bioptim (2) Ampules on the 15th and 30th of each month. I dose Prodibio Reefbooster (1) Ampule every Friday. I dose Warner Marine Amino's every other day 10ml except on the day I dose Reefbooster and skip one day.

Water changes are performed 1 to 2 days before dosing the BioDigest and Bioptim. I use a 6 stage RO/DI unit to filter my water. 20 Gallon water changes are made every 2 weeks. Carbon and GFO are changed out once a month. I use BulkReefSupply carbon and GFO and use about 2 & 1/2 cups of carbon and 1 & 1/4 cup of GFO monthly.

I really can't think of anything else to say about the setup. I noticed an improvement in SPS coloration and PE after starting the Prodibio products. My best investment was the GEO calcium reactor as prior to that I used a 2 part system that had me dosing 400 ml of each Cal and Alk daily. This became a huge chore to me and my wife as I split the dose in 2 200ml doses over the 24 hour period.

Tank looks very cool! I liked the rockwork setup previously that I saw, but I see you have added tons of sps to have to been forced to switch it up. Very nice and see everyone there is no need for MH... lol

When I first started reading this post, I thought the first updates were from Jan to Oct, and I thought "wow nice growth", but then I got to the real Jan to Oct growth, WOW Insane growth!!!!

Nice transformation in less than a year. Keep it up.

They are Koralia magnets on the frag rack.
