I just moved and pieced my 150 gallon back together. I’m experiencing difficulty with my overflow. Any help would be appreciated…
I have a 150 drilled with a 1.5” overflow. I use a Mag 18 (1800gph) for my return. My overflow consists of a bulkhead and strainer at the top back right of my tank. Behind the tank, the overflow has a T valve and the PVC descends down into the sump. On top of the T valve, I have a pvc “cap” with two holes in it. I turn the cap to allow varying amounts of air in/out in order to curb noise and control overflow speed.
At the moment my sump level will not stop fluctuating. The level fluctuates by approximately 5 inches every 10-20 seconds. The fluctuations are prompted/followed by a gurgling/flushing noise.
Please, Please, Please help me.
Thanks in advances…
