I'm wondering if anyone knows how many holes in the rear panel of glass is too many. Counting up how many I need, I'll be around 13, which seems like overkill, but the panel is 6'x30", it already has 3 drain lines drilled in the center, at the bottom of the pane. I'd be looking to maybe add 10 1" bulkheads,
2 returns from sump
2 Closed loop drains
4 closed loop returns
Possibly 2 for a bypass on the closed loop, these 2 will always be putting out flow.

I would be concerned with that many holes, not only due to stress but for all the potential leaks.

Can you go over the top on a couple of the closed loop returns or into the side panels?

Not sure about your bypass situation, is it needed?

I'd consider putting the closed loop in the bottom pane

Well every hole will weaken the glass. Plus your putting loads on the glass around the bulkheads. I wouldn't do it, less is more. Could you use the sides and the bottom?

for the returns, could you jsut branch off some pvc to direct the water flow? that way you can cut down on the drilling and pressure it puts on the glass
