I was wondering what people have used to keep mantis.

Is anyone running there setup on tap water?

From what I've been reading their pretty hardy creatures that don't require reef water quality.

im sure it can be done, but i would use only R/O water. Simply for the fact that there are many things in tap water that are horrible for inverts.

Matters what your tap water's quality is. I only use tap for my fish and anemones and inverts. I'd like to have ro/di, but don't. Been doing it this way since I've started. My new mantis is in tap water right now.

i only use ro/di water in all of my tanks....but i do know of some people who use regular tap water that they sit in a bucket with a pump for a few days before they use it.

i do recomend only using ro/di water though.

Also, keep in mind that only some of the species are hardy, while others are very sensitive to water parameters.
