Octopus extreme 150 overflowing

I cant get my skimmer to work properly. After breaking in it worked well for a couple weeks but now it keeps producing very wet skimate and the collection cup fills up in less than an hour. Ive already reduced the water level from about 8 inches to 6 inches butthat didnt help. Any idea why this is happening???
