Whats on my sps?

It's not a very good pic, but what is this on the base of my sps? I have noticed that this peice hasn't been doing very well.

Brown Wafer algae.....

I had it bad in my tank, used API Marine AlgaeFix over a few weeks and it got rid of it. If you don't do something about it, it will be all over your tank in short order.

You can manually remove a lot of it, but that combined with the algaefix should get rid of it.

Thanks for your reply. Will fraging this SPS take care of it? Concidering that I don't include any of the "bad" algae with this frag?

Yep if you get it all off it should, unless its already seeded. This stuff spreads not just by growing, but by flow as well.

i didnt know there was sps guys in bismarck. jk bismarck native. were do you guys buy up there now.

My Naso wipeout about 90 lbs of fock that was 80% covered with Brown Wafer algae inless than a month. He was only 3".
