I've been noticing my PH too low in my 55 gal (7.8). I went and got some Proper PH and dosed my tank according to directions. For 2 days the PH stayed at 8.4 then dropped back to 8.2 this morning. At the same time I decided it might be a good time to learn about GH and KH. I tested for these before adding the Proper PH. KH was 11.0 and GH was off the scale. Now both are still off the scale. This is were I say "help"! how dangerous is this and what should I do?

Forget virtually anything that claims to be a pH adjustment product. They always boost alkalinity a lot and rarely solve pH problems.

How low was the pH before you added anything?

GH is a mixture of calcium, magnesium, strontium and maybe others. it is not worth measuring in seawater.
