Help Plumbing sump w/ skimmer

Ok so I am plumbing my sump and am wondering how high my skimmer needs to be. The directions say 1-2 inches above first riser but what is that? is i an MRC - MR1

Maybe they mean first baffle? I think you'll be OK with the water level being below the output of the skimmer. That's how my Aqua C EV works. Had to build a little stand to accomplish this though.

For mine basically it's one or two inches above the water level. Hope that helps.
