I thought I would share the progress of my 1st reef tank. It is a 75 gallon rr tank. I built the stand from 2 x4 studs then covered it with 3/4 inch birch. The canapoy was also mad from birch and to match. I have around 220 lbs of live rock currently and about 80 lbs os sand. I plan on adding another 20 lbs of sand in the near future. I followed the instruction for making a sump from a 20 gallon long found on this site. I currently have a yellow tang, a false perrcula and 2 yellow headed jawfish in the tank. It has about 5 snails and between 5-10 hermit crabs. Any suggestions on sand sifters to keep the sand clean? http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=248990&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500 http://reefcentral.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=248991&papass=&sort=1&size=medium&thecat=500

Beautiful stand you built there! LR looks high quality too, IMO. As far as sand sifters, I'm not convinced they do a lot to actually clean the sand, but Nassarius Snails will definately keep it stirred up. They're pretty cool little things to boot :)

Thanks for the compliments! I think I will start with mushroom coral. I'm running pc lights (4x65) and have another pc light (4x65) I plan on adding when I get new bulbs for it. I'm real new to corals, what are easy corals to care for for a newbie? I have read that mushroom coral mutliple fast, will that become an issue later when I want to add more expensive corals?
