View Full Version : BK conical external skimmers + new skimmer capacities with DC motor?

Hi,

Is Royal-Exclusiv looking at developing external versions of "ice cream cone" skimmers such as an external version of the Supermarine 250?

Will the conical shape become a standard feature of future Bubble Kings? In other words, are the benefits of the interior cone significant enough to warrant their inclusion in future designs?

I'm also curious about capacity changes of Bubble King skimmers when equipped with the new DC motors. Can we potentially use a lower capacity Bubble King traditionally sold with the AC motor on larger tanks by upgrading to the DC motor? Is there a chart of combinations/capacities available?

My understanding of the DC motor's benefits is that it will allow finer tuning of the air/water mix which might or might not result in higher skimming potential. I can be completely off track so would appreciate some feedback from Royal-Exclusiv/Proline.

Lots of questions but I'm curious/interested.

Thanks,

Hesham

There are external SM series in the works ,as for release date will be end of the year or sometimes next year.
The Data for the RDII pump will be advertised in 2 or 3 weeks.
As for this question:
My understanding of the DC motor's benefits is that it will allow finer tuning of the air/water mix which might or might not result in higher skimming potential. I can be completely off track so would appreciate some feedback from Royal-Exclusiv/Proline.
The new Dc Motor pump will make the skimmer adjustable in many ways
1-Water & Air input
2-More Air Ratio
3-Wider skimming range for each model
We will keep this forum updated once we have data published by the Manufacturer.

Forgot to mention that the Deluxe line will always stay the same as the main BK line & no immidiate future plans to change the line.
Supermarine is the new line of BK skimmers that has the cone.
I believe RE sees a complete cone design a disadvantage as you will be loosing alot of space for reaction time within the same height skimmer because of cone shape ,the cone transition does give you the cone benefit & does not reduce the Reaction space by as much as a full cone.
