Adding more Rock

I have some LR that I could not fit in my display when I started my tank almost 7 months ago. I planned on adding it into the second chamber of my BioCube but the rock stunk so bad I was afraid to use it.

It has been sitting in a bucket full of water in the back yard all winter. it dose not stink anymore and I was wondering if I boiled the rock for a few minutes and let it cool down if I could go a head and drop it in the tank?

Having it in the cold for the winter like you did, no doubt, killed everything. So, boiling it would be a good measure to get any dead tissue, etc. off of it before you put it in your tank. You might want to blast it with a hose, too, if you can before putting it into your reef.

I would be careful if the tank has been setup and cycled and has corals/fish in it, it could not sure but start a cycle again... Just make sure its cleaned good.
