I have a frag tank that is not viewable for people. Well my question is if I use my skimmer drain line right into my frag tank I can add alot more flow with out adding another power head, but it will add airbubble into the frag tank. the bubbles are not pretty to look at but as I said nobody will see it but me. will the corals have any nagative response to the bubbles?

Thanks Roger

i belive that a constant touch with air is no good for any corals in the long therm.
last TOTM was injecting air to his display in order to mimic some aspects of reefs..whether is befits or harmful i can not say..but notice that the air injecting is on intervals and not continius.
some people cosidre air buble to be a real No-No in SPS tank as some belive "burning" will take place.

ok well unless I get a different response I will just keep it how it is.

Aren't there always air bubbles drifting past corals in nature?

Most SPS corals get bashed by waves everyday and by plenty of micro bubbles.

I don't really care about the looks as I said this is a frag tank that is not for viewing it is for growing.

What do you think about the bubbles will it interupt/slow growth or hinder color?

Weatherson intentionally injects air into his display tank every 2 hrs to promote coral sliming and oxygenation. His sps look fine.

Give it a try and if you see adverse affects change it back.
