I've had a pink birdsnest frag in my tank for over a month and its not pink anymore, more like a light brown peach color. What did i do wrong? I did do a lugols dip when i first got it. My parameters are:

SG: 1.025 (calibrated refractometer)
PH: 8.1-8.2 (milwauke ph-600)
Nitrate: O (salifert)
Phosphate: 0 (salifert)
Calcium: 425 (salifert)
Alk: 10.1 DKH (salifert)
Mag: 1340ppm (red sea)

Little more tank info 42 Gallons System Volume (40breeder display), two algae free modded maxijets in back corners, lighting is 250w DE Reeflux 12k in a lumenmax reflector. Octopus NW 110 skimmer, and Top Off is fed through a Kalk Reactor. I started using phosban in a reactor a few weeks ago.

I have 8 fish and i feed once a day with mysid shrimp and every now and then with ORA Glow food.

lugols dip always turned most corals a brownish color but they recovered in a few months.

few months? so i give another month or so? It was pink after the dip, then slowly lost its pink over a couple days. Its placed in the middle of the tank in a high flow area, the halide bulb is 10 inches from the water surface.

I'm having the same problem and about to purchase the ZEO Stylo-Pocci Glow also. I'm also going to measure Potassium since lower than NSW 380 can wash out the corals.

After both of those I've been told it could be the bulbs. Pink Birdsnest does not respond well the Phoenix 14K bulb from what I gather.

Tagging along for other suggestions.
