Two months ago I installed a calcium reactor to my 125 gallons reef. I started by measuring the efluent with a PH test kit but it was to much work so I decided to install a Milwaukee controller to regulate the reactor PH.

I am using a regulator, selenoid and 5 pounds co2 bottle previously installed in a planted aquarium.

After some reading I decided that the best place to install the PH probe was inside the reactor.

I have ARM media and mantain the PH inside the reactor at 6.7-6.8 with a Milwaukee controller. More or less 2 bubbles per second on and off.

Here is a step by step process of installing the bulkhead to measure PH inside the reactor.

First I used two drills to make the hole because the cover was too thick for the bulkhead.

The controller set to turn off at 6.7PH. Fluctuates between 6.7 and 6.8PH.

The effluent returns to the sump and mix with the water from the skimmer to disipate C02.

PH in the tank fluctuates between 8.1 and 8.2
