I just received my replacement temp probe as the other one failed on me. I have read conflicting reports as to whether it shoudl be submerged directly in water. What's everyone doing?? I always submerged mine on both tanks. Is this wrong?? If so then how do you keep it dry and still get a reading??
I already submerged it but thought I should ask...even if it is after the fact.

I have always submerged my probes, all of them (for many, many years). I also have 1 of the newer (fat body) temp probes, submerged.
Now, that said I don't know what Curt would say (maybe I've been doing it all wrong for all these years).

Yes, that sounds like a bad probe. You can test the AC unit by unplugging the temp probe, you should get a reading near 20 F.
You should call Neptune support to get a new one.
Out of curiosity; is this the new version (fat) temp probe; about the fatness of a small finger or the older style (thin), like a pencil?
sdfish; in the future it would be better to start a new thread for your question.

I'd call Neptune support to be sure. The temp probe comes factory calibrated so it shouldn't need calibrated.
