View Full Version : Getting the most out of an AquaClear

I have an AC70 on my 24g aquapod. Right now it has the standard three filters sitting in it: carbon, sponge, bio filter. This is my first AC filter and I'm wondering if there are better things out there to put in it. I've also noticed alot of people use these things as fuges.

Can anyone give me suggestions on how I should use this AC to make it more efficient?

I use a combo of polyfilter, chemipure and a Po4 remover with great results on a aquaclear 110 for yrs and you can rid yourself of the sponges and biofilter as live rock and sand will do more than an adequate job, add a quality skimmer and good water flow and you have got it covered!

About how much of the AquaClear do you have filled up with the live rock and sand?

No I would suggest you Have the Rock and sand in the tank and just use the filter as a source for chemical filtration !
