Hi guys,

I just got an angler fish..I was told that it's a frog fish. He looks like this except he has a lure.

It's been about a week and he really hasn't eaten much. He ate at the store..but I'm not sure how to feed him. We have chromis that he COULD eat..but he won't. We took him out and tried to feed him shrimp, but he'd just spit it back out.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

:D

Frog fish eat BIG meals and have a slow metabolism so it can be a long time between meals just keep on counting the chromis.

Ya, I hear they can eat fish almost as big as they are. A big meal like that should last a while.

You should get a pic of your actual angler :)

Very cool, reminds me of my Brackish tank, like a siamese tiger fish in a way. :)

Wait, is that a pic of the ACTUAL fish, or just a representation? The fish in the picture DOES have a lure, it just doesn't have it out. Representations aren't a good idea as frogfishes can vary in ways normal hobbyists don't notice, and therefore it can be a completely different species. So, get a pic of the actual specimen if you can!
