Ok, I finally starting to work on my 50g breeder. Don't have much done yet, but it's a start. I am not gonna go crazy on this tank. It's gonna be a poor man's reef. :) I am using everything from my previous 125g.

I am going to make an externally overflow on this tank and 40" tall stand. I had started making the stand yesterday and hopefully have the frame done tomorrow. Today I had cut all the pieces for my overflow and got the weir done on the tank. I am going to cut the holes for drain tomorrow.

The overflow is 23"x9"x4" (3/8" thick) with 2 drain holes. I am thinking 1.25" for the drains, but not sure yet The pump will return no more than 700gph. Probably even less than 600gph. Any suggestions?

Also, can I use rubbing alcohol instead of acetone to clean the glass?

Thanks!

I only have a camera phone with me right now, so the pics are bad. :(

Thanks! Hopefully I can finish building by this coming friday. I think I will just go for 1.25" drain pipe because of some difficulties using the durso. Plus I might use my old mag 9 if the OR3500 is too weak.
