I have recently noticed a big change at the store. Your employees in the fish room are getting very ignorant. I wanted a damaged mushroom out of a tank marked 6.99. The girl took it out of the tank, split it in half with her finger and told me it was per frag. I know it will be ok for the shroom, but you can't do that in front of customers. It' s stupid!!! Secondly, when the frag is put into the frag tank, the price is as it is marked, weither it has one or two verts on it. Otherwise, don't put it in that tank. I told the manager about it but he doesn't know anything about pets. Some of your employees said he doesn't come out of the office much. This is another thing that shouldn't be done in the public. I know what a manager does, and it doesn't consist of eating cheeseburgers all day, another thing overheard at the store.

I am sorry that you feel you were not treated fairly in the fish room at our retail store. The frags in the tank in question are marked at 6.99 ea. The red mushrooms in the tank went in loose, and are intended for individual sale. If some of them had stuck to another frag, or several to a peice of rock, then they would have been seperated, or you would have been charged for multiple frags. Maybe the sales clerk that was helping you was not clear, or simply did not know, and should have asked a supervisor. That particular frag tank has a large number of loose mushrooms in it from a display tank tear down, it is much more crowded than it usually is, sorry for the confusion.

If you ever have questions or concerns about anything in the fishroom, please ask for a FISHROOM manager or supervisor. Our Retail departments are run seperately, the retail store manager is not directly involved in the operation of the fish room. While we do work together, you will get better service and information if you deal with the separate departments with questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Dave

I was just there,on Sunday june 8th.of course during the heat wave.but being from upstate NY,about a 6 hour drive from the store.I asked at the service desk by the fishroom, about getting some fish, and would they be ok on the trip home. all they told me was to run the ac all the way home.LOL,with the price of gas,and no ac in the car.I would have thought they they mite offer a styrome box and maybe a cold pack.would have been more then glad to pay for a cold pack.but like I said, all they could say was run the ac. maybe you should put up a ssomething that's say's if you have a question , please ask for a FISHROOM manager or supervisor.
don't know I would stop there at the store again.
one more thing,I was looking at your real freshwater plants,I can
bigger ones at walmart.

I'll have to defend TFP. I take the drive over from Philadelphia once a month or so and have always been treated great. I know I'm going to sound like a shill here, but no complaints on my end. Whether it be the reptile room, dog supplies or saltwater related items, I've always had courteous and helpful staff assist me.

Last month, I had to return a 48" HQI light fixture. I was greeted promptly, the light tested, and it was swapped out no problem.

Furthermore, browsing for fish, I was eying a Regal angel. The staff member asked me if I would want to see if it would eat before I could request it.

Honestly, it's one of the better places I've been to in terms of customer service.

(for the record, the staff has been very helpful when I was shopping for items for our bearded dragon and recommendations and explanations for dog food) Over and above IMHO. Keep up the good work!
