I have a 200 gallon mixed reef tank, actually all softies and 15 fish. I have a 40 gallon sump with a refugium, about 250 lbs of live rock 150 lbs of live sand. Because of my livestock i do feed heavily (3 times a day each time 2 cubes of frozen food). I do regular water changes and clean the glass every week but what about the sand? Due to the amount of live rock i'm sure some of the detritus, left over food and debris get washed in areas that are not visible. Do you guys clean the sand out every now and then?? I have a gravel vac but am very lazy when it comes to using it during water changes. How many of you guys religiously clean your sand bottoms? If I have enough of a cleanup crew and crabs snails should I even be concerned??

Vacuuming sucks but it needs to be done especially with how much you feed. To me when it comes to SW it doesn't pay to be lazy. I am guilty of being lazy from time to time but, not very often.
