Anyone have any experience with ventralis anthias? I've heard from two reefers that they have poor survivability rates. Just wanted to know if there are any success stories out there. I would like to get one or two for my 135 gal. TIA.

I would look at Barletts or Ignitus before the Ventails if you're looking for the pastel colorations. Maybe Bi-colors also but I think they get large.
Lyretails are bold coloration, nice & hardy though.

I dont know if you are open to alternatives, but about 2 months ago i got a sunburst anthias from oceans tropical fish in aliso and it is doing well. It is eating multiple types of food and it is growing. They arent quite as social as other anthias, but they have similar coloration. I know that oceans has at least two more in stock..i was in there yesterday.

Wow, so not only are the ventralis anths short term rentals, the methods used to collect them are inhumane, literally. I think anyone considering buying ventralis anths should really consider this before buying. I for one will not buy them anymore. and there are lots of other options.
