how do i make fan work auto

How do i make my fan come on when the tank his 82. ive seen thermostatic plugs but they work on room temp. I need something with a probe, and cheap.

You could just set the fan on a timer and have it come on when the lights are on.
You could just leave the fan on all the time.
You could get a temp controller like Ranco.
You could get a tank controller, but it's a little more pricey.

Im going on holiday tomorrow and the fan has done such a good job of lowering the temp that i dont want to leave it on for 2 weeks. Lets just say the weather here is a little unpridictable , sun today but could be very cold tomorrow. I have just set it up on a timer to work with the lights. I cant seem to find the Ranco controller over here in the uk although it looks fantastic.

Just make sure you test it to make sure the timer will actually turn it on. Sometimes these new fans reset when the power is disrupted and you have to manually turn them back on.
