Hi, anyone ever own 1-2 of these in a lps/zoa/sps reef tank? I understand they're plankton eaters so I would think they stay in the open water... but I haven't met anyone that can confirm in tank behavior... like do they pick at rock like copperband butterflies/pygmy angels do or don't even look at things on the rock (aka my zoa/lps! lol)

Thanks in advance!!

I haven't owned one, but my LFS has one in the ~1,000 gallon reef (sps/lps/softies/clams/etc) and it doesn't bother any of the corals. I have never seen it grazing the rocks... it swims in the water column looking for food.

And yes, they are a planktivore.

Here's some pics of that system:

Mine was completely reef safe. Very hardy/good eater/active too, though one day it mysteriously disappeared. (Big fish for that to happen, I still wonder)

I have big fish disappear sometimes too. You'd be surprised how quickly your clean up crew can devour a large fish. (my serpent star and shrimp eat the bulk of it)
