Hey guys I was wondering if anybody has any good techniques for keeping fish out of your overflow??

I got a black plastic grid/wire. Kinda stuff you use on gardens. The holes are about 1/2 " and I cable tied it to my overflow to stop my clown jumping in.

Worked a charm and cost $2 from local hardware store.

attach some plastic gutter guard. it's cheap and effective and available at most home centers. you can attach it with plastic cable ties to the teeth so it rises above your overflow. the little buggers can't jump over then and surf your sump...

Be careful when guarding the overflows. I'd just make the rim higher. I've heard some people have lost their fish because they just put netting over the top of the overflow. The fish jump over, but instead of landing in water they are trapped on the netting and die...
