Hello everyone. I was wondering what everyone sets their pH controllers to as far as when to turn on the CO2 solenoid and when to turn it off. I am using Gen-X reactor media. Can anyone give me recommendations on what pH to set my pH controller to for the CO2 to turn on and off and how do I know if the pH settings need to be changed or not? Thanks

Your reactor, is it single stage or dual stage? Where will you be measuring the pH?

If it is a dual stage and you are measuing the effluent then I would set the pH to turn off at about 7.4 for now, and monitor things closely for a few days. Also keep an eye on the tank pH.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the article Randy, very helpful. I am using a single stage geo reactor. I have a pH monitor for the display tank and a pH monitor/controller for the reactor itself.

Is there a preferred magnesium substrate that can be added to the reactor to keep magnesium levels constant?
