I'm think about putting a Coris wrasse in with my slippery dick wrasse. I was reading on a wildlife website that they are compatible with coris wrasse, what do you think?

Any ideas for other big fish I could put in the tank.
I just want one more fish in the tank

(29 gal)

you can't keep a coris wrasse in a 29 gallon tank, they get a foot long, or more. what web site did you get your information from about compatibility? I don't know for sure, but my guess is that even if you put them in a big enough tank, they would not be compatible.

Not sure which species of Coris you have in mind, but all of the ones available to hobbyists cannot stay in a 29. Here's an article:

The slippery dick wrasse gets around 8 or 9 inches. Just with this one, you need to plan for a larger tank.

Well, my wrasse is doing perfectly fine. He's about 6 inches and healthy as can be in a 29 gal tank.

He might be healthy, but probably isn't happy. Picture yourself trapped in a normal size closet for life, you wouldn't be very happy either.

I don't think a clownfish belongs in a 6 gal tank either but hey that's just me. Definately a 29 gal tank is too small for a 9 inch fish. It might be okay when the fish is small but an upgrade is in order for sure.

Ahhh, here's the elusive Slippery Dick Wrasse. I was worried initially about what a google search would come back with, hahaha, but got only the fish....whew!

How does a clown fish not belong in a 6 gal tank?

Wow! Its a nice one to put on my "To Look For" list while out fish shopping. I always wondered how stuff gets input in the Google Search... you CAN end up with some surprises though on occasion

How many do you want? Swarms of them around So. Florida. Over Father's Day off the dock:
