Hey All I have a 90 gallon that I upgraded the lighting to 2x250w MH light system. With the lights on and a good fan blowing into the sump it is at 84*

I do have a chiller but no room to set it up properly.

The tank is open top but limited on height for putting a fan between the light fixture and tank-

any ideas?

I don't want to downgrade the light- but will if I have to :(

Thanks

i had a similar situation last night, I got a very small fan at walgreens, maybe 4" and set it on to of the tank blowing between the lights and tank. I went from a high of 84 yesterday to a high of 82 today.

I zip tied the legs of the fan to the center brace of the tank

+1 for the fan on the DT. I know a guy w/ a 180 gal. He has 2-400 watt + 1-250 watt MH on it. Keeps the tank at room temp with no chiller just 2-4"or 6" radio shack fans pointed at the surface of the water.

I have similar lights over my 75. When I first got them I had the same problem. Having them hang about 5" above the tank (( compared to sitting on the tank, and 3 clip on fans did the trick.

I have two of the fans over my sump, and one of the fans behind the tank blowing across the water. Now my tank never gets hotter then 83. And this is in the hottest room of the house.
