A few months ago I adopted a cockatiel that was in need of a home. I planned on holding on to him for a little while and then find a home after the school year was over. I'm finally getting around to a home-search for him.

He's the normal gray color with white wing bars and a yellow head. He had to have been a hand raised bird as he's completely comfortable with people. I have him out on my computer stand right now. His worst bite is barely a pinch and a squeek and he only does that if you stick your fingers in his face. He talks a little and has a few favorite whistles that he loves to repeat. I don't know how old he is, but he seems relatively young. He had clipped wings but his flight feathers have since grown out. He's happy, healthy and eats like it.

If I give him up I want to know that the new owner will have time to take him out of his cage and really spend time with him on a daily basis. He gets up in the morning with me and sits on the shower rod alongside my conure while I shower. He follows me around until I leave for work and is then out of the cage when I get home. Birds need A LOT of attention and he needs to go to someone able to give that.
He can whistle up a storm, so keep that in mind. He's not a constant screamer, but he will vocallize in the mornings and usually around dusk, just like any bird.

You'll get a cage with the same stuff in it that I was given and I'll pass along a little cup of food to give you a day or 2 before having to buy a bag. Seed alone is unhealthy. I feed him a pellet food and will give sunflower seeds as a treat. This food has kept my other bird healthy and colorful for a few years and I would strongly recommend it. I believe it's made by Zoopreme and you can find it at PetsMart.

So, can anyone come get little Kesha (pronounced kyesha...it's Russian in origin) a good home?

No thanks on the bird. I'm sure he's lovely but eeeekkkk! I have a fear of birds...but not cotton balls...so I think I'm ok.

Are you still interested in my mated pair of N. helianthus?
