my neon green haddoni has selected the bottom right corner of my 110g to grow and grow while enjoying my weekly feedings of a large shrimp.
every year for the two years i have had it, it retreats for about week into its little cave...then slowly expands to its old spot.
any explanations?

Mine doesn't do it that long, but last week it did that twice for about a day.
Was yours really "gone" for a whole week?
One day I came home to this,

yep!
that's about what it does. just retreats into the rock work and i do not see hide nor hair of him for a week. then he reappears like nothing happened!
since this is the second time he has done it...i am wondering if it is a annular cyclical thing. i will make a note of it that just before summer solstice that he just up and disappears!

So yours happened last week? Looking at the dates of my pictures, the first time happened on 6/3, then again around the 12th.
I am surprised that yours did that for that long, mine was only for a day. What is really odd is that my blue one ( in the same tank ) didn't do a thing during that time.
