Wanting to get a school of Anthias...

Hey guys,

I really want to add a school of Anthias to my 150 gallon SPS reef tank (in the making). I have been researching online and quizzing my LFS as to the + and - of the fish.

Are any species hardier than others?

Proper school size? I was thinking a school of 5, letting one become the male.

My LFS says the main reason people describe them as difficult to keep is that they are picky eaters, but once they start eating, they are relatively easy to care for.

I have five of Bartlett's Anthias and five Lyretail Anthias in my 300. They are awesome. Eat chopped shrimp the first day I got them.

IMO, it is best to get one male first then add females. I brought all five lyretail as female; now three of them decided to became male and they fight all the time.
