Has anyone used or seen both in action? Comparisons?

This is for a 30x30x24 tank. Main inhabitant will be a Gigantea anemone.

I have both, What do you want to know?

If I was going to buy a pump now I would look at the new tunze nano streams over both of those.

I was curious about the flow patterns of both. And would the Tunze be strong enough for a 30x30 area.

Are the new Nanostreams available yet?

The Koralias are the best bang for the buck IMHO. The Tunzes provide a broader stream from what I understand, but I have no used one.

I have two Koralia 4s, and I can say one will easily move water in a 30x30 area.

I have had Koralias in the past, I switched to the Tunze 6101's in my 180 and there is no comparison. I was just wondering how the 6045's performed. I don't need 6101's in a 30x30. Can't afford another set either. I like the small size of the nanos and if they have a nice gentle, wide stream they will be my choice.

I have 2 modded tunze 6045's and a korilla 4.

I did not like the Korilla and use it to mix salt now. The flow comes out at 2 different angles.?

I have heard the korilla 3 is actually better.

The tunze is smaller and cleaner looking IMO.

i'm really leaning towards the tunze. how bad are the swivel mounts, I hear they break pretty easily.

That is there 1 weak spot still. I got free replacements, and treat them carefully!

I had a few break when they first came out- have not had a problem since they were replaced

I believe they changed the shafts from ceramic to stainless steel over the past couple of years. Keep in mind that any of the issues you experienced with the Koralias may have been from older units. Mine were both second hand and have made flow flawlessly...all for about $35. a piece.

I think there is alot more to a Tunze Stream, but it carries the price tag to boot.

I have 2x 6045.s and 2x korilla 3's in my tank that is 36x24x24. The 6045 givs more of a pointed stream and the 3' are more broad with a little angle to them.

Thanks. That's what I was trying to find out.

Also the 3's are about even with flow as the 6045's.

i have 2 modded 6025s and 2-koralia 3s. The tunzes are much better IMO. Smaller, cleaner looking and i prefer the flow they put out. Its stronger and broader. The koralias are great for the price but I also do not like how they shoot off into 2 directions only. I don't use the little "flow director" that makes the koralias flow more direct.

read the interzoo thread again those are not new nano streams those are the new streams and they are all way more flow than he needs.

My Korilla 4 shaft is stainless.

That's a good thing- the old ones were ceramic.

I have both and over the 2 years I've had more issues with the Korallias. Two fo the 4 Korallias have failed and to my surprise, they set off the current detector pen when placed on the front pane of glass to my surprise...BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!

All electrical doo-hickies were unplugged and plugged back in and lo and behold...it was the Korallias. When I get them replaced, I will be selling them and get Tunzes. Smaller, less conspicuous and I prefer the Tunzes conical flow pattern vs the Korallia split/V. The additional shroud that now comes with them to creat a more conical flow adds another 1.5"-2" lenth and stand out more.

thats the new 6060 not a nano, that would work but its allot of flow to come out of one direction.
