Why does this snail keep turning upside down? I turned him 4 times today.

Thank you

I find mine like that sometimes too. They will stay upsydown for days until I put them back on the rocks. I would like to know why too.

I have one that keeps flipping over also. I think he is trying to commit suicide.

When in doubt... blame the wife.

But, what if the snail isn't married?

Some snails can turn themselves over.. others can't. They fall off the rocks sometimes or the current blows them over. Or a crab turns them over trying to steal their shell. If you don't turn some types over they will die bc they can't get back on their side.

In my experience, snails that need frequent flipping over usually don't last for too long.

+1

I'd also suggest you check all your water parameters, temp, etc. as well, could be something off just enough to upset the snail... Nerites are very intolerant of high nitrates and copper... easy to starve to death in a low algae environment (they eat a lot)... or it could be old age... who knows how old that snail really is
