Hey...I'm looking to start to add shrimp to the tank... I used to have 1 cleaner in the tank but it was a while ago. The only question I have, is that the flow has increased since then, and once the shrimp molt, theyre moltings would fly to the back of the tank behind the rocks, where I cant reach it. How does everyone get their moltings out?

Is there some sort of invert that eats moltings.

I don't take them out. I usually don't find them. I have seen my brittle star eating them. I'm sure a lot of things eat them.

I've had 3 moltings this last week and I was able to pull 2 of them out in one piece. The other broke apart and I didn't get much of it out. Something will eat it or it'll make it's way into a filter.

alright thanks. I have 3 serpant stars in the tank now. Hoepfully they have an appetite for shrimp moltings.

Thanks

There is no need to take it out. It's mostly calcium and sugar with a little bit of protein. It's not going to pollute the water and will be quickly broken down. Often the shrimp will eat them themselves.
