Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a hairy mushroom and a Ricordea?

Well depends what kind of ricordea you are talking about Yumas or floridas. Either way both rics will have bubbles covering the top that are uniform as in not odd shapped always cirlce unlike hairy mushrooms which can have almost a star or spike looking bubbles. Also the rhodactis will have spike looking edges. Not sure if you know but there is a difference too between Rhodactis and hairy mushrooms also. If you have a pic you could send me I would be more than happy to try and identify them for you.

Ahh...OK, got it. Thx! It looks like what i got is a hairy mushroom. So, are hairy mushrooms not Rhodactis?

Most people consider them to be Rhodactis indosinensis, but I'm not sure how accurate that really is.
