I recently purchased 2 big hairy mushrooms. They are attached to a Christmas tree rock. I really want to remove the mushrooms so I can see the Christmas tree rock. These mushrooms are huge I was thinking of cutting them off and then trying to get them to attach to another rock. I really don't want to kill them but they really need to be moved, also can I just stick them back in my main tank when I am done? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

you can just cut themoff with a razzor or tissue scissors at the base of the coral. if they are very large i would try to tie them down in a low flow area to a rock with some fishing line, but do it very loosly. also to prevent them from regrowing on the xmas rock make sure after you cut them off to get all od the mushroom tissue off the rock or it will grow back. you wont kill them...they are very very hard to kill. you can literally chop them in to pieces and they will grow...i have an anoying mushroom that grew in a crevace in a rock and about every month i chop away at it with bone cutters and each time i say well that seems to be enought i think i got it all but it keeps growing back. i have even injected it with kalk....point is mushrooms are very dificult to kill so dont be affraid of cutting them.

Make sure to get it as far down as possible to the rock, i tried to get a yuma off the back of a rock and left a little chunk, now ive got another growing in its place:)
