Achilles are open ocean swimmers that prefer long runs for bursts of speed. I personally would not put one in a hex due to the dimensions but in a 190 long I might. Some of the folks that currently keep them will chime in to tell you that they need lots of O2 saturation, excellent parameters, plenty of length to swim, and are can be very territorial with other tangs esp. other Acantharus species.

The definately need room to swim; lots of room to swim back and forth.

I've always admired the looks of this fish, and would like to get one someday, so I read all the threads about them (no way I'd put one in my current medium-flow, 115 gallon softie/LPS tank, of course). The common theme among those who've successfully kept achilles tangs is either, or preferably both of the following characteristics: very large dimensions (like preferably 8' long or more) and very high flow.
