pink tailed trigger

I recently purchased an aquarium with a pink tailed trigger. I am finally able to get a good look at him w/ the lights on and I noticed on the bottom of his "stomach" area is a patch of white bumpy like stuff. The best I can describe it is the way salt creep looks. here is the best photo i can get. i also noticed a patch of it on his bottom back fin. Could this be an injury- or does it look like disease? He was in a bin while I was getting the tank ready with a huge green carpet anemone...who ended up eating my tang fish.
