Hey I am currently using 2 Koralia 4's on my tank and was wondering if anyone on here has modded them and if they like them. I have heard you can just go to a hobby store and get a simple boat or airplane propeller and switch them out, is this true?

their was a post a few weeks ago about using a maxi jet mod on a #4. stated to bring the output to like 2000gph. i think it was called the maxi algae free mod kit. seemed like a cool mod. but dont know how to find it.

There's a huge thread about this on the diy forum.

No good in my experience. It did work for about 1 month on one unit, never on another. Then it stopped working on the first one. The fins of the props are backwards of eachother, or wrong direction....I'm not sure what to call it, but they don't go the same way. 2 options:

1. Get a knockoff of the original but make it much bigger.

2. Get the Dumas 3004 formed in the other direction/orientation. It is more than just flipping it over. I tried.

According to my brother to have a mold done and test would cost big bucks. He suggested experimenting with a heat gun to bend the fins of the Dumas.
