View Full Version : Trying to find out what type of fish i seen at LFS

i don't have a picture. it was attached to glass, they had 2 of them. guy that worked there called it a clingfish, but doesn't sound right. looks like part of shark family.

kind of like a freshwater pleco, black with a little white on the tail, only about 2" long. was clinging to glass, maybe to clings to fish in the wild...

been looking all over internet but i'm heading nowhere...

Coral Catfish maybe? Did it have stripes?

not stripes. coral catfish was the first thing i came across. this is all black, no whiskers, and the bottom is flat where is attached to side of tank

Sorry, but I have no idea. Sounds like a cool fish though, do you know how big they get?

he said only about 5", but i can't find anything about it

it has eyes are on top, head was about the shape of a quarter with a tail like a shark...

i've done searches on sharks, suckerfish, clingfish...

no luck yet

in that link. the fish attached to the diver...
if it was black and about 2" in length it would look very similar indeed...

going through the species but i'm thing the guy may have been right about clingfish...

I've seen one that was at a fish store that was about 2.5 feet. And I'm not sure whether it is invert or coral safe.
