Hey all,

I'm going to be picking up a juvenile Cherub angel tomorrow and want to be sure that I have the appropriate foods on hand for his QT period. I have a container of Ocean Nutrition's Red Marine Algae sheets that I have had for a little bit over a year, and the previous owner of my nano tank had it for a bit before that.

Does this stuff go bad? Is there some way I can tell if it's still fresh/safe?

It's not expensive to replace, but if it's still good it'd be a bit like throwing away money to toss it. On the other hand, I certainly don't want to lose a new fish because I was stupid and cheap. :D

I don't think so...I did just have a closer look at the packaging and it's got "U 98" stamped on it...

Maybe that's it? That would make this seaweed a LOT older than I thought it was

My cherub won't touch the stuff. I feed it for my tangs and my citron goby loves it too. My cherub goes after everything else I feed, flakes, pellets, frozen shrimp, and homemade foods. If the nori looks and smells OK, it should be good, especially if the package is still sealed.
