Salifert test kits are no more

I just went by my local LFS and he selling the kits he has for around $12.00. I asked him why, he said that the company folded because they were producing test kits that were no good.



Anyone hear about this?

the only thing ive heard, be it hearsay is that the boss of salifert became ill and this website stopped his link, appaently he was not responding to customers questions, my lfs have still got the salifert kits on the shelf and i suspect as a company they will continue to sell test kits, this whole thing could just be hearsay and i recon we should just leave it at that, otherwise rumours will escalate and get out of control

This was at Aqua Addict yesterday, and he said he couldn't get anyone from the company that they were basically closed.

My store in Washington still gets them, well-stocked. They use a major west-coast supplier.

Well, if Salifert is all done what do people think is the next best? I've heard decent comments about Elos. Anyone using them?

im afraid i have not jtma, however where i live red sea and tropic marin are about the only other choices, id love to here Reef Centrals views on these 2 kits:)

i have been using Elos for awhile now, and i do recommend them. and also prefer them over salifert. some of the salifert kits the end tritation point is very hard to see. The Elos all seem to have a sharp tritation point that you cant miss.

Salifert is the only test kit I've used for several years. I had read they had some problems with some bad test kits last year.
