i just recently converted my fowlr tank to a reef and my phosphate reading is around 3.0 ppm using a salifert tesk kit. i just ordered 1200g of phosban media and a reactor. how much media should i use and how much flow? should i get 2 reactors? how soon should i replace the media? how long do you guys think it would take to lower it down to 0? thanks in advanvce

I've never used Phosban or a reactor. If you don't get any further advice here, you may try the equipment forum or the reef discussion forum. Lots of folks there who are using your equipment. :)

How many gallons are in your total system?

I have used 2 of the two little fishes reactors( rated at 150g each) on a 500gallon system with about 4 inches of gfo in each(400grms total I think). It worked very well (.03)but never got to zero and I didn't wan't it too.

you should use 7 grams per gallon and just have the media at a slow roll in the reactor it should have movement like water at a slow simmer. If it is working to hard you will get the media to break down and enter the tank, I change my media about every three weeks, I have a 75 reef

i read you should use half the recommended dose for the first 2 weeks then replace the gfo and run a full dose
