Sand question

Someone had mentioned using pool sand for your substrate, and said that as long as it was quartz that would be OK. Is this true??

stay away from sand that is not for the aquarium. it can have adverse effects down the road. for the potiential trouble i would steer clear of it.

do not use pool sand , i have never heard of a good outcome from this.
