I'm new to this forum but very interested in the 70. I would love some pricing on the 70 and your lighting options for that tank. EVOS or Planet I.
P.S. Elos aquariums make all others just buckets with fish and stuff.

Doral Aquarium & Reptile
2600 NW 87th Ave Ste #4
Miami, FL 33172
Phone: (305) 718-9973

I have been there a few times in the past, they had a 160, but I have not been there in probably a year. Jesse do they still sell your equipment? I was going to have them get me a 70 as well but never went through with it.

Unfortunately,

My heart was set on going there today but I called to check if they still had one but just got V/M on the phone posted in The List. Maybe during the week they will open. LFS need days off too. But I'll post my findings.

I am in the market (Jesse knows) and just wanted to make sure the System 70's stand comes completely finished in the back since I am planning on using it as a full 360 view.

Maybe another thread is warranted?

The stand is designed to be viewed from all sides. Doral can order from us but I do not believe they have any elos 70's in stock. 70's sell the quickest of any of our systems and I only know of a couple in the country who may have them in stock. Unfortunately, nothing close to Miami. Hope that helps and sorry for the late reply.

I stopped down there on Sunday, they were closed. It seems that they have a new number, 305-303-7325. I hope I got that right.

Thanks Jesse but I am waiting for January's "big bullet proof tank" coming to Miami that you mentioned and maybe get on that truck as you said. I hope I can get on that truck and could you let me know how much in advance I need to place the order for that date. I am looking at the Ferrari Red Planet I and the 70 with the matching red stand. Do you think this will work out? Maybe a group purchase from the FMAS forum might happen if enough reefers in this area want an Elos too.

Loweryster, Thanks for the new number nut I just gave them a call and got V/M again. Just need to see any Elos so I can check out the design and I need to convince the girly that this is the Bang & Olufsen of tanks. I'm already convinced just by the love shown for them in this forum.

Hello:

My office is less than 5 bloks away from this store... Last I checked they didnt have any Elos systems on display however I will pass by today for lunch and grab some quiznos (next door to it) and maybe take some pics :)

We're grouping up in the FMAS forum for a group purchase. Everybody interested that's in Miami-Ft.Lauderdale should join in. Eisaiasjr sounds like you might be our next to join?

I have no clue what FMAS is

But I would love to find out what its all about, specially if it involves buying ELOS products :)

..anyway, I went to Doral Aquariums and I can honestly say that they dont have a single ELOS product (not even the test kits) in their showroom.

Personally I would not go back into that store, they were very ill-equiped in comparison to the other places you find in Miami.

My place of choice is Exotic Aquariums on Bird Rd.

Florida Marine Aquarium Society - We are all from Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area and there is a similar thread I started trying to find an Elos to look at in Miami. After hyping up the Elos I decided to start a group purchase in order to get a better deal for equipment and shipping. We are shooting for a January delivery and already have 3 people on board so far after a day! Who knows where this will go: 10, 20, or will we have ourselves a convoy.

Varyhare:

Ah, that sounds like a great idea! I have been speaking to Jesse about my new tank which will be installed in January...

Its a rather large tank with dimensions of 12-15 feet by 3-4 feet and 20-24 inches high. I still havent decided the exact dimension but they will be LARGE :)

Right now I have a system 70 with a B2 @ home for my seahorses and companions and I can tell you that I will never be able to own any other tank that is not an ELOS!

I will take some pictures of it tonight and post them on this thread so you can see them...

Estefano

Hey guys,

As promissed... here are some pics of the System 70. Its a new tank and I dont even have a light over it (waitting on the e-lite) so I dont have any coral.

The seahorses I have had for about 6 months and they seem to be much happier now since they got upgraded from a tall 35 gal.

I also have a longnose Hawkfish as well as a pair of Helfrichi Firefish which seems to be asleep.

And the Naked percs I just picked up, they will be here for another 15-21 days until I feel they are safe to get into the system 70:

Estefano,

Are you the bullet-proof tank delivery for January that Jesse mentioned to me?

varyhare

And by the way. Awesome tank setup. Very interesting Aquascaping is that to support seahorses so they can grab on?

Varyhare:

I think jesse has more business than what he likes to admit :P

anyway, I am one of the guys that might pick up the Bullet Proof glass to make a large tank...

To answer your other question, yes... the reason why I setup the tank this way is to try to get as many "hitching" post as possible for my 4 Erectus seahorses.

I still dont have a light over the tank :( but I expect it to arrive by the end of the month.

Also... my longnose hawkfish decided that he didnt like the tank anymore so he jumped :( I figured it was just a matter of time until this happened.

Regards,

Estefano

Estefano,

I have been trying to accumulate enough tank orders to alleviate the shipping woes for Miami, FL. I have several potential members that would also like Elos tanks in Miami-Ft.Lauderdale and as a group purchase, the shipping won't be as painful.

Unfortunately, with open tanks we always have the possibility of suicide fish. I'm sorry to hear about your hawkfish. I thought only wrasse had suicidal tendancies. Sounds like my kitty is going to LOVE my new Elos in January!
