Shouldn't it be called "Reef Fish"??

Am I a total dumba$$? Who says, reef fishes? I'm pretty sure the correct english is "Reef Fish"


For example: "Hi, do you sell reef fishes at this fish store?"


"uh..... mmmmm..... er...... are you from Bakersfield?"

I'm not sure, but I believe fish refers to multiple individuals, while fishes refers to multiple types of fish :)
