Does anyone have any experience with these??
I don't want one. I would need a new house/ family. I just think it looks interesting, and would like to hear some stories.
Here is one for sale on ebay. Is it a sea snake or an eel????

It does look a lot like a sea snake. However, the only way one would be non venomous is if the venom glands were surgically removed. I expect such surgery would call for a higher price tag, so odds are this guy doesn't actually realize he's got one of the most venomous snakes in the world.

I guess it could be one of these, but it sure looks like a sea snake, and he said it is active. While the banded snake eel likes to burrow.

well if it is a snake it's one of the most venemous in the world

I can't really tell from the photo, but I used to be big into reptiles and banded sea snakes were available several years back. They eat fish, the wholesaler who had them fed them fresh water eels, they do not and would not eat shrimp or crabs. I would bet money that it is a banded snake eel, which is a fish and eats shrimp and crabs.

The laws reguarding venemous reptiles are very strict in most states and without a special venemous permit you can not own or sell them, another reason I think it is a snake eel.

Agree re: banded snake eel - having seen banded sea kraits "up close" the head doesn't look quite the right match in this case. Better head shots would probably reassure potential buyers though.
