I am still having a hell of a time killing some algae thats been around for a few months now. It was in my 20 long and would come back nearly over night and would spready fast. I ended up going to a 29 biocube things settled down for about two weeks and now its starting to come back. I will get pics as soon as it comes back (just did a water change and scrubbed it off) but it is long stringy stuff that is black and spreads very quickly on the substrate and LR. Recently on the LR it looks like a slime coating. In a previous post I was told it is cyano? If this is the case whats the best way to get rid of it? I have been trying algaefix by api for the last week with no luck.

it sounds like cyano to me too. not sure algaefix will work as cyano is a bacteria. heres the link to how to rid your tank of cyano. alot of good reading here
