looking into changing my lighting. I have a 48 in tank with a coralife aqualight 4 96 watt bulbs. what does hqi mean? Any preferences anyone?

Hqi is a more concentrated beam of light than SE and you need to have a UV shield under the bulbs. SE bulbs have the shield already on them. I have only used SE so can't say much more.

They are also Dual-end bulbs (DE) and have a more efficient output than the single-end bulbs.
