toadstool question

so i got two decent sized toadstools about 3 or 4 days ago and they instantly extended their little hair polyps or whatever its called about 2 cm. now today 1 of them retracted all of them and has a few little black (instead of the natural orange) hairs sticking out is it sick or just not hungry im new to these...any help thanks!

it will prob be fine they are known to open and close for whatever reason they do one of mine stayed closed for a month and then got all waxy then opened up even bigger then before

A toadstool will go through a growth spurt and in that time they will be all shriveled up and look like crap but then it will come back healthy. hope this helps.
